Dr. Matthew Miller

Dr. Matthew Miller is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He has a passion for providing the best possible periodontal and implant therapy to his patients based on scientific evidence and over 14 years of experience.

Dr. Miller attended the University of Washington where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Medicine in 1997 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001. Upon graduation, Dr. Miller was commissioned in the US Navy and in 2002 completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in Great Lakes, IL. He practiced general dentistry for six years delivery care to US Sailors and Marines before dedicating his practice to periodontics.

Dr. Miller completed a 3-year residency in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry in 2010 at Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland where he received honors for his research in surgical correction of recession and as the top performing resident in the school. That same year he also received a Masters Degree in Oral Biology from The George Washington University.

Currently, Dr. Miller is the Director of the Graduate Periodontics Residency Program at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School. He also holds an appointment of Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.

In his free time, Dr. Miller enjoys travelling and being outside running, skiing and hiking but he most enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons going to youth sports games, Cub Scout campouts and playing hard in the backyard.
